RANDOM

Random is an emerging art project exploring nostalgia and recognition — a feeling its creator describes as “illuminated sadness.” It centres on light objects and interior sculptures inspired by familiar architecture and urban imagery.

Its core collection reinterprets the visual language of Soviet and post-Soviet environments. Apartment blocks become softly glowing objects, while Soviet kiosks are recreated as compact, battery-powered lamps. These forms awaken emotional memories, turning everyday city landmarks into warm interior artefacts.

The project also creates bespoke models and custom solutions for brands, from texture changes to branding for particular collaborations and spaces. Past projects include lamps for START’s series “Children of Change,” an apartment block for TNT’s “Polyarny,” a kiosk lamp for Premier inspired by “Peace! Friendship! Chewing Gum!”, and an illuminated model of Luzhniki stadium.

Random continues to develop light objects as a way to rethink urban memory, translating familiar architecture into the language of design, emotion and light.
