Dmitriy Kavka works at the intersection of digital and physical realities, exploring the paradoxes of new sensibilities and the transformation of images in digital environments.
He combines new media — digital sculpture, video and computer games — with traditional drawing and painting. He also experiments with presenting art in virtual spaces: in 2017, his exhibition of drawings on Google Maps was shown in Venice during the 57th International Art Biennale.
Kavka’s work has been exhibited at Cosmoscow, the Multimedia Art Museum and the Moscow Museum of Modern Art. His collaborations include Dynamo Moscow football club, Samokat, Lime, Avgvst jewelry and RBC Style. In these projects, he brings his signature technique into brand communication, transforming flat, repeatedly multiplied images into sculptural objects.
His work has received the Sergey Kuryokhin Award, European Design Awards and Design Innovation Awards.
